• Comb Coils
• Free Formation
• Interlocked (without extensions)
• Felted (without extensions)
• Braided or Twisted (without extensions)

Temporary Loc Extensions

Temporary Loc installations are a way to wear hair in a loc-Inspired style without the commitment to permanent locs. Some temporary loc foundation types include:

• Faux Locs & Hair Waps
• Crochet Loc Extensions
• Premade Loc Wigs, Units, & Wefts

Semi-Permanent Loc Extensions

Semi-Permanent Locs are loc extensions or attachments that are maintained using loc maintenance techniques. Some semi-permanent loc foundation types include:

• Premade Loose Root Extensions for Felting
• Custom Loc Extension Sizing with Human Hair

Loc Sizes

We determine the size of your locs by considering the following:

  • The number of your existing locs or your resulting loc partings
  • The size of your’s head compared to average documented sizes.
  • The amount of hair coverage & density you have.

Loc Parting Types

Loc partings are an important factor when considering styling results and ease of self maintenance. The are the shapes your locs make on your scalp when your locs are maintained with (or without) a binding technique.

Grid Parting Pattern

The E-Exclusive Grid parting consists of a series of mostly perpendicular bisecting parts that make a line graph or grid look.

This is parting pattern is ideal for speedy maintenance and balanced style construction. It also has the added benefit of easy scalp monitoring & referencing.

Advanced versions of the grid parting include diamond partings.

Brick Parting Pattern

Brick parting or Brick layering utilizes horizontally or vertically parted panels on some or all of the scalp.

These panels are then sectioned into blocks that form "T" patterned intersections that look like a brick laid pattern.

The benefit of this pattern is for clients who wish for a fuller look in a certain direction of styling. Ideal for clients with light or smooth density hair.

Singular Loc Sectioning

Singular Loc Sectioning is a parting strategy that allows clients to have both loose hair and locked hair in the same head of hair.

These locs are parted or naturally formed in locations on the scalp that are meaningful to the wearer.

Structured- Free Parting Pattern

Structured-free parting patterns are partings done by hand with minimal to zero use of a tool or implement.

They are lightly structured via considerations made for the size of the locs and overall (but not emphasized) parting cleanliness.

Free Form Sectioning

Free-form sectioning utilizes no tools or implements for loc sectioning and minimal to moderate hand manipulation for their formation.

The parts are generally varied and indistinct allowing the locs to attain their size and shape from a hair strand's natural coil pattern.

Loc Extensions

Loc Extensions are for current or prospective loc travelers who decide to incorporate or begin their loc journey with intentionally added length.

Premade Loose Root Extensions for Felting (Semi-Permanent)

These human hair extensions have a loose root base that allows semi-permanent to permanent attachment to the ends of hair.

These extensions vary in longevity based on human hair donor strand compatibility.

Pre-made Synthetic Loc Extensions (Temporary)

Pre-made, synthetic loc extensions allow one to enjoy the look of locs without a long-term commitment to locs.

You can also easily prototype a variety of loc looks in preparation for a future loc journey.

Synthetic loc extensions can include synthetic crochet, synthetic weft, & synthetic wig loc extensions & units.

Custom-Felted Human Hair Extensions (Semi-Permanent)

For these extensions we use loose bulk human hair closely matching the client's natural curl pattern and carefully integrate these strands into the length of a clients loose natural hair.

This process matches the weight and density of the loose natural hair making it ideal for loc extension longevity and scalp health.

Wavy/Curly Human Hair Faux Loc (SemI-Permanent)

These Semipermanent Faux locs utilize wraping techniques and light felting integration to create a long-wear loc look.

With moderate effort, they can be taken down, or they can be maintained into permanent locs.

These extensions vary in longevity based on human hair donor strand compatibility and extensions application.

Coil Human Hair Faux Loc (Semi-Permanent)

These Semi-permanent Faux locs utilize wrapping techniques, with minimal felting and palm rolling.

While designed to be maintained into permanent locs these extensions can be taken down with low alteration to the naturally growing hair.

These extensions vary in longevity based on human hair strand compatibility and extension application.

Wavy/Curly Synthetic Faux Loc (Temporary)

These loc extensions utilize a combination of braids, twists, and/or wraps to create a temporary loc look with loose wavy hair on the ends or throughout the length of the loc.

These Locs are structured to be taken down with moderate to light effort and weighted to only be worn temporarily.

Coil Synthetic Faux Loc (Temporary)

These loc extensions utilize a combination of braids, twists, and/or wraps to create a temporary loc look with a fluffed to matte finish and open coil or closed ends throughout the length of the loc.

These locs are structured to be taken down with moderate to effort and weighted to only be worn for a short time.

Loc Reattachment

Clients who have harvested locs may be able to have them resized & newly attached to their hair or fully reattached as a freshly grafted set.

Loc Maintenance Modalities

Loc maintenance modalities are different care methods for maintaining and grooming locs.

(Palm) Rolling

Palm Rolling is the process of selecting a locked section of hair and using a rolling or twisting motion to assist the natural coil of the hair in the process of locked integration.

This can be done using a comb, fingers, palms of the hands, or other method of using rotation to incorporate the natural curl pattern into coil.

Palm rolling is the fastest of the loc maintenance modalities and typically requires weekly to triweekly retwists.

Interlocking

The Interlocking modality is a tool-aided maintenance technique that takes the ends of a loc strand loops its through its base.

The loops are intentionally guided and compacted, through any unlocked lengths, into a multi directional spiral that flows the natural curl pattern into a loc core.

Felting

For Clients who have budded strands of hair that have not integrated into the loc core, a felting or instant locking technique with a crochet needle accelerates the integration of these strands.

Setting

Setting allows clients to change the shape of their locs varying the energy of their style. Some loc setting techniques include curl setting (Rods, pipe cleaners, rollers), Wave Setting (Braid-Outs, Twist-Outs)

Water Forming/ Cleanse Only Loc Care

Water forming is a loc cleansing and maintenance modality that uses water weight, light sectioning, and air drying to minimally disrupt the free-form locking process.

Upon request, locs are separated and strands are gently guided to their estimated loc section of origin.

A deep cleanse (3-5 shampoos) and an optional leave-in conditioner and/or liquid oil are used for this process.

Loc Repair & Reattachment

With this service, Clients who have locs or loc extensions that have weakened or fallen from an appropriately supportive section can have their locs reinforced or reattached to that section.

Loc Adornments, Accessories, & Appraisal

Loc adornments & accessories are temporary or permanent, precious, semi-precious, or common additions to loc to enhance their subjective beauty.

Loc Appraisals are professional assessments that document fixed characteristics of a physical loc strand.

Loc Cleaning & Treatments

Loc cleaning and treatments consist of 3-5 clarifying shampoos and accompanying treatment requests (detox, color, conditioner, oils, and fragrance) for clean, refreshed locs.
